We invite you to the provocative, seductive and passionate performance ‘Prostitute’. This is a candid story told through the language of striptease. You have never seen such an interpretation of classical literature before. Don't miss one of the most anticipated theatrical events of the year!

A dance drama about a woman's fate

The performance ‘Prostitute’ is the first dance production in the strip genre, which radically changes the perception of what a dramatic story on stage can be. It is based on the novel of the same name by Panas Mirny, one of the most powerful and painful works of Ukrainian literature. The performance reinterprets the classic plot through body language, human plasticity, seductive movements, and inner tension. This socio-psychological drama, which became a mirror of 19th-century society, sounds no less acute and relevant today, finding new life on stage.

At the centre of the plot of the strip show ‘Prostitute’ is Khrystyna, a young girl who finds herself on the brink of survival. Having lost her parents, she goes to Kyiv in search of protection and hope. When it seems that there is no way out, fate brings Khrystyna to an elite capital cabaret — a space of glamour and darkness at the same time. This is where the story of the struggle for the right to live begins, for the desire to preserve oneself in a society that obeys ruthless rules and leaves no room for female weakness.

Strip adaptation of classical literature

The play ‘Prostitute’ was staged by Ukraine's first strip theatre, SHADOW theatre. This production breaks all stereotypes about striptease, transforming it from a show into a powerful dramatic tool. Here, nudity is not for effect, but as a way to talk about choice, dignity and female vulnerability.

The sensuality of contemporary choreography, charismatic acting and a dramatic plot create a beautiful atmosphere that takes your breath away. The passionate dance moves convey a whole range of emotions – from passion to fear, from desire to remorse. The performance ‘Prostitute’ is a story that leaves no one indifferent and continues to resonate long after the final movement.
